Cornell & Diehl Star of the East Flake 煙斗菸草

The Latakia hits just right—smoky but smooth, not overpowering like some blends. I've been reaching for this over my usual English mixtures because the Turkish adds a nice depth. Already bought a second tin.

The smoky latakia hits you right away, but the red Virginia sweetness balances it beautifully in a flake. Packing it took a bit of patience, but the burn was smooth and cool. This is my new go-to for a contemplative evening smoke.

The flake format is a nice change, though it needs some drying time before it lights evenly. That 50/50 latakia mix gives a solid smoky room note, but the red Virginia sweetness feels a bit buried until the bowl's halfway.
