In Colonial days, Virginia was the source for the finest tobaccos. Traditionally shipped in giant barrels called 'hogsheads', farmers packed their precious leaf. Hogshead is a blend of very old Virginias cultivated in Africa, Brazil, and the United States. Pressed into an easy to use plug, hogshead harkens back to the heritage of the greatest Virginia tobaccos. This epic blend just might be the perfect Virginia. Daniel Q. ★★★★★

The aged Virginia leaf in this blend is something else — it's sweet and tangy without any bite, even on a first light. I packed a bowl after dinner and the room note had my wife asking what smelled so good. The old-school hogshead story behind it makes every smoke feel a little more special.

Adam ★★★★☆

The tin note is a nice balance of sweet and earthy, but I was a bit surprised by how dry it was right out of the tin. It smokes well after a little humidification, though, and the old Virginia flavors come through smooth.

Penelope B. ★★★☆☆

The tin note is pleasant, but I found the moisture content a bit high straight out of the pouch, needing some dry time. It burns slow once it's going, though the flavor stays mellow rather than complex. A decent smoke for the price, just not the bold Virginia experience I was hoping for.
